Scott D. Kumpf, Esq.

Professional Experience

Mr. Kumpf graduated with honors from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University in 1992. Following graduation, he practiced in San Diego, California with the commercial litigation firm of Walton, Ottesen, Meads & Koler. He later joined San Diego’s oldest law firm, Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, where his practice focused on commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on employment law. He came to Colorado in 1998 to accept a position as general counsel for a Castle Rock-based manufacturer and distributor of dietary and nutritional supplements.

David O. Hansen, Esq.

Professional Experience

Mr. Hansen graduated from Washburn University School of Law in 1997. Before becoming a partner at Kumpf Charsley & Hansen, LLC he served as in-house counsel for a large privately owned residential home building and land development company in Colorado. Since that time Mr. Hansen has been an active trial lawyer in complex civil, personal injury, automobile collision, insurance bad faith, and premises liability cases in Colorado District Court, Federal District Court, and arbitration.

Dane Torbenson, Esq.

Dane Torbenson is a Denver native, and grew up in the Park Hill neighborhood in east Denver. After attending Denver East High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After a number of years as a starving actor, and jobs ranging from waiter to stuntman to private investigator to paralegal, Dane enrolled at the University of Denver College of Law, and received his J.D. in 1998. Dane began practicing criminal defense law at the law firm of Newell and Martens, and eventually became partner in the firm then named Newell and Torbenson.

Michael Sasin, Esq.

Professional Experience

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University where he majored in International Relations with a minor in business.  He received his law, masters of business administration, and a masters of law in taxation degrees from the University of Denver.

Michael’s practice focuses on elder law, estate planning, probate, guardianships and conservatorships, and Medicaid planning.  He has also practiced in the areas of bankruptcy and tax law.  After over 20 years in practice, Michael has learned to explain things in simple terms so clients leave informed, not confused.

Michael is admitted to practice in Colorado, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, and the U.S. Tax Court. In his free time he enjoys skiing, both downhill and cross-country, and has been known to do some Olympic weightlifting.

Tami Pray, L.L.P.

Professional Experience

Tami Pray is a fifth-generation native Coloradoan who grew up in Fort Collins, CO.  She has been a paralegal with Kumpf Charsley & Hansen for over 11 years of her 20+ year career assisting our attorneys and clients in many areas of law including all areas of family law, probate and diverse civil matters. Tami graduated from IBMC in Fort Collins, Colorado with an Associates of Occupational Studies- Paralegal degree in 2003.  Most recently, she was sworn in on June 20, 2024 by the Colorado Supreme Court with the inaugural class of Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals in Colorado.

Tami’s knowledge and experience with nearly every judicial district in the State of Colorado separates her from the average LLP.  Her compassion and ability to assist clients through the complexities and difficulties of navigating the family law system are unmatched.

Tami is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and Family Law Section.

Outside of the office, Tami enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, fishing, playing pinochle, cooking, and traveling.

Jake Rolfson, Esq.

Professional Experience

Jake Rolfson advises clients on a variety of business matters across a range of industries, including entity formation, corporate governance, and contract drafting and negotiation. He advises companies and their leadership on day-to-day legal issues, helping them navigate growth, structure operations, and manage risk.

While his current practice centers on transactional and corporate work, Jake has experience litigating various real estate and construction disputes and has represented clients in various commercial real estate transactions. He started his career as a consultant at Alvarez & Marsal, where he advised clients on corporate tax compliance, equity compensation packages, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has experience with a range of international legal issues, including US and EU data privacy compliance, and cross-border business operations.

Jake earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and an L.L.M. in International and European Business Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid, Spain. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University and has spent significant time in living in both Spain and Norway.

Nicole Cannon, Esq.

Professional Experience

Mrs. Nicole Cannon represents individuals in estate planning and family law matters. Nicole grew up in Olive Branch, Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University for her undergraduate studies.

Driven by her lived experience advocating for her own disabled family members, Nicole became the first attorney in her family. As such, she deeply understands what it is like to need someone in your corner. For this reason, she believes in the power of effective and strong legal advocacy.

Prior to law school, she was a social worker serving disabled adults and the homeless community in Southern California. During these roles, she honed her conflict resolution skills and carries such skills into her legal practice.

Nicole earned her J.D. from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. Additionally, she earned a Health Law Certificate concentrated in advancing legal policy initiatives for individuals with severe mental illnesses. During law school, Nicole gained comprehensive, foundational insight into the judicial system by clerking for the Honorable Judge Leith at the Denver Probate Court and serving as a Student Attorney for a non-profit organization advocating for crime victims.

Nicole approaches her law practice in the same manner that she approaches life – with diligence, compassion, and grit. Through this lens, she meets her clients where they are and helps them navigate the legal process.

Jeremy D. Earle, Esq.

Jeremy Earle focuses his practice on personal injury and civil litigation, representing individuals who have been injured through the negligence of others.

Since beginning his legal career in 2014, Jeremy has handled a broad range of personal injury matters, including automobile collisions, premises liability claims, wrongful death cases, and other complex injury matters. Jeremy founded Warrior Injury Law in Colorado Springs in 2017, where he built and managed a plaintiff-side personal injury practice while representing injured clients throughout Colorado. His experience has included evaluating and developing claims, navigating insurance coverage issues, negotiating with insurers and opposing counsel, and litigating cases when necessary to obtain a fair result for his clients.

In addition to his legal practice, Jeremy has extensive experience as an entrepreneur and business owner. He has founded and developed businesses in the legal services, professional education, and consumer-service industries. That experience gives him a practical perspective on problem solving, decision-making, and the importance of delivering a high level of service. Jeremy brings the same approach to his legal practice: understand the problem thoroughly, communicate clearly, develop a sound strategy, and execute it efficiently.

Jeremy earned his Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston in 2013. He was admitted to practice law in Texas and Colorado in 2014. Jeremy has been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America for Personal Injury Litigation – Plaintiffs since 2024. Jeremy lives in the Colorado Springs area and, outside the practice of law, continues to pursue his interest in entrepreneurship and building businesses.
