Professional Experience

Mr. Kumpf graduated with honors from the J. Reuben Clark School of Law at Brigham Young University in 1992. Following graduation, he practiced in San Diego, California with the commercial litigation firm of Walton, Ottesen, Meads & Koler. He later joined San Diego’s oldest law firm, Higgs, Fletcher & Mack, where his practice focused on commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on employment law. He came to Colorado in 1998 to accept a position as general counsel for a Castle Rock-based manufacturer and distributor of dietary and nutritional supplements. Since that time, his practice has focused on issues common to small and mid-sized businesses, including matters such as entity formation, management, corporate governance, employment, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate leasing and real estate acquisitions. He describes his practice best as “outside general counsel to numerous small and mid-sized businesses.” His clients appreciate easy access to a seasoned corporate attorney without the need to employ one full-time.

Since moving to Colorado, Mr. Kumpf has been active in the community, most recently serving as the District Chairman of the Pioneer Trails District of the Denver Area Council, Boys Scouts of America. Additionally, he has served for many years in a variety of leadership and youth-related capacities in his local church congregation. He and his wife Connie have been married for more than 35 years and are the parents of three sons.
